On Thursday 24th January, Ben Ansell spoke at one of the Martin School's politics seminars. The lecture introduced the WEALTHPOL project and where Ben's idea for this major research grant came from. The scholarship of Thomas Piketty, Anthony Atkinson, and Larry Bartels has often focused on incomes, whereas Ansell explained how WEALTHPOL will look at wealth and how wealth inequality may impact on contemporary politics.
The event was well-attended, being open to the public as well as the University, and we hope that interest in the project was piqued!
